Nothing smells more like Christmas than a fresh cut Christmas Tree in the Living Room. No matter how big, or small... fat, or skinny.. the smell of a sweet Christmas tree is just so refreshing!

We picked two trees out this year. One for us, and one for my good friend. I was so excited for her to come over. The last time she came, we had such a nice visit. I was looking forward to seeing her again.

They came over around 7:00 p.m. Hubby prepared all sorts of great food, and I got a bunch goodies together for when they arrived. It was such a nice visit. I mean it. I enjoy the company of Julie so much. And, Rudy is a nice guy, too. He thinks everything is really funny, which is good for me! I enjoy making people laugh. :) He seems to think the world of Fred, which is good. It gives Julie and I time to visit, and the guys can hang out while we chat. Nice! But last night, we planned on playing a game. Only problem was, we couldn't find the game we wanted to play. I grabbed Julie, and off to Toys R us we went. I ended up buying two games. We only ended up playing one. It was SO MUCH FUN!!!! We laughed and laughed. It was silly, fun, and a great "conversation game". It was so funny that we ended up playing it until 2:00 a.m!!! I'm serious. lol! No drinking, nothing.... just fun with friends. :)

So, that was our Saturday night. Julie loved all the clothes I got for her. She couldn't wait to unwrap the Christmas tree, and surprise her daughter with it. I am excited for her. And, I hope Jory enjoys her gifts. I had so much fun playing Santa this year. It was so much fun.. and, it really made me feel good, to be able to help a friend out. I love Julie. She is very special to me. She was the first friend I made back in 1986, when I moved to Pa. I am so grateful to have her back in my life. I think she feels the same way, too. :)

So much more going on... Will post more in just a bit! Time to make some dinner!!!!!!

strange day

Today is a very unusual day.
I don't know why.
It's just strange...

I am not feeling well (still). But, I am looking forward to feeling all better tomorrow. I have my friend Julie coming over with her boyfriend tomorrow night. I'm pretty excited. I have been shopping up a storm for her, and can't wait to give her all sorts of "goodies". Plus, tonight.. if I'm feeling well, I hope to get a Christmas tree up. I love to decorate! This year the color will be gold. I am honestly thinking I might mix it with red. We'll see. We decorate our tree so well each year that people actually slow down and stare in the window when walking, or driving by. I love it! It's so much fun. My goal this year was to get out there and do our search for the best/worst Charlie Brown Christmas tree. The tree that nobody else would bother with. I don't know. I hope I feel well enough to go. I hate feeling crappy. :(

Other than that... I am glad it's Friday. There should be a house full of kids this weekend. Our usual extended family of kids.. :) I love it. Someday they'll all be grown up, and moved on.. Until then - I enjoy every minute of it. OK. Not every minute of it. Sometimes I catch them up at all hours of the night. That isn't so much fun. LOL! :)

So, today I wish you a beautiful weekend. It's going to be chilly here. Ok... it's going to be downright freezing cold. We might even have snow. Who knows... I just wish you the best of the best.

I am in so much pain this morning. It actually takes my breath away.
I can't even believe I made it in to work. Watching the clock.. waiting for this medicine to kick in.
I put a call in to my doctor. Normally, I wouldn't even consider taking pain medication. Today, I'd take anything. I can't even describe the feeling. I've been up (on and off) since 3:00 a.m. - Today, I wear a sweatshirt and casual pants to work. I can't even get dressed right! And, I could care less.

Mentally.. I'm okay. It's just a plain ole tough day. It's cold (about 20 degrees) and icy. It snowed yesterday, and iced over. The ride to work this morning was
s-l-o-w.

I am still holding out for a happy day. This crap will not defeat me!

WHAT A WEEKEND!!!!!!!

Where should I begin?

I've actually been tossing the whole thing around in my head, and trying to blog about it... but, I've had a difficult time putting the whole weekend into one short/long blog... so much to blog about.. yet, most people might not "get it"....
So, I can just say this...

It was quite an incredible weekend.

Friday. Cold...
Saturday. Colder.....
Sunday. Freezing cold & SNOW!

Got Christmas shopping finished for the kids...
Watched Black and white Movies from the 1940's (LOVED IT)
Went on a "journey" of sorts... right in my living room. (long story)
Had tons of laughs... and some emotional moments....
Took silly pictures (of course!)
Had deep talks..
Went out to eat...
Did some cleaning and laundry (lol)
Made a huge connection with a friend.... Broke a wall down...
Slept like a baby on Saturday night...

Went shopping with my best buddy, Eveline!
We had a blast!
I accomplished a lot, and it felt great. I have not been in the mood to shop for the Holiday's AT ALL, but this really worked out well.
And, the time is flying. I can't believe it's already past 3:00!
Now, I should get myself to work. I'm having the most difficult time focusing, as I have finally caught a break in this busy time of year.

It's true. It's exactly how I feel today.
I am so lucky, so blessed.
I don't need to be perfect. Heck, it would be to difficult to maintain anyway!
So, for today... I am proud of who I am, and the path I have taken, in this life of mine.

This week is SO quiet, compared to the last month. I'm so glad, because it's been tough. I can handle a lot, honestly. But, with the crazy work schedule, and so much other crap going on, this is a welcome change.

So, things are peachy!!!!

I'm looking forward to a great rest of the week! And, FRIDAY - I'll be off! On a super, spectacular weekend adventure! I'm really looking forward to it.

Sunday... Sunday....

Wow! What a long weekend! Yeah! It was loooooong, and relaxing!
Not a lot of excitement going on.... but we didn't run run run!!!
Okay, let me reflect a little on some of the things that I did.....


I wore Comfy clothes!!! No work clothes this weekend!!! Yippie!!!!!!

And, I visited with Julie!!!!!! And her daughter Jory!!! And, I met Rudy.....



Let me say, the visit with them on Saturday night was very nice. Rudy seems nice, but I do have my concerns.... Long story short (Erin? Can she make a story short???).. Well, I'll try. Julie met Rudy online. She did NOT want to go out with him. She told me that they would chat on the phone for hours at a time. I convinced her to give it a try (back in June). She loved the date. As a matter a fact, she kept on dating him! Now, it's November. HE LIVES WITH HER! Ok... you think that might be "quick", well - SHE'S PREGNANT. Nope, not kidding. And, she's not newly pregnant. She's about 5 months along. *shrugs.. I'm not judging. I'm just concerned. VERY concerned. But, she's not 20 years old. She is a grown woman. And, it's only because I care so much about her, that I worry about her, Jory, and their future. But, I have to step back, and just support her as a friend should do. Hug her if she needs a hug, and listen, if she needs to talk. 21 years of friendship means something. So, there you have it. Long story, short!

Took really nice, LONG showers....
Had lots of coffee..
Played photographer.

I did cleaning, laundry..
and even ran out to the store, and got some Birthday shopping done. Yep! My boy will be a teenager on the 29th! Wow, where have the years gone?????



Oh... I can't forget to mention this:
I got to visit my Grandmother on Thanksgiving. That was fantastic. I just adore her more than I could ever express in words, or here... blogging. She is one of the most special people in my life. Every time I see her, I realize how much she has impacted my life. She teaches me something new, every time I visit with her. And, she does it without knowing. I just love her so much. <3

Well, that about sums it up. Nothing major going on. Nothing earth shattering... just a long weekend.

It's Friday!!!!!!!

And, it's cold as can be!!!!!!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........ But, how can I complain?? Well, I'm NOT! I LOVE the colder weather. As long as it's sunny, I'm happy. I only get caught up in that S.A.D. stuff when it's grey, dark...and no sign of sunny days.

So, NO way could you have caught me out there shopping today! No thank you, no way! I did that early Black Friday shopping once, and that was it. I like a bargain as much as the next person... but how crazy are these people?? UP all night, waiting outside a store, in hopes of grabbing up a deal (or two)... shoving, pushing, fighting, cursing, cutting in line... no thank YOU! (lol). I tried it, two years ago. It was terrible. The monster came out in all of these people. "me me me" is all you could see. NOT my cup of tea. Never, ever again. Nope.....not me.

SO, I didn't sleep late ( I can't ), but I took my time, and relaxed a lot! I also decided that I wanted my girlfriend to come over tomorrow night. SO, I contacted her, and invited her over for dinner. That should be nice. I look forward to it. :) Julie and I don't see each other often, and we've been very good friends for 21 years. We've grown apart, and come back together. It's awesome. We still don't spend a lot of time together, but she knows that at any time, she could call me - and I'd be there for her. It's just the way it is, for me. And, she knows it. :)

What else? Well, I have not been feeling well at all. I have not felt this tired (Or dizzy) in years and years.... and it makes me a little uncomfortable. It's one of those things where you wonder if you'll ever feel "normal" again. I have actually been falling asleep on the couch and stuff. It's just not like me. I usually have a lot more energy. I hope it goes away soon. I want to feel the energy.... again.

That's about it, for now. Thanksgiving was nice. Peaceful. And today, peaceful. Nice. :)

Oh yes! 1/2 Day - here at work. I am so glad. I really need a break. So much going on. So little time to enjoy the simple things in life. One being, time to relax, and enjoy some peace and quiet......
