Brrrrr ... Baby it's cold out

I can take the cold, but I'll say this..... It's getting harder and harder as the years go by.
The photo above was taken this past February when we were returning to Baltimore from our week long cruise with Jimm and Monica. We had just visited Florida and the Bahamas, and it wasn't a whole lot better than it was up North! Okay, so it was sunny and warm in the Bahamas.... But, it sure wasn't warm enough to go swimming or anything.

Okay, so I'm getting off track. Not unusual for me!

It's Saturday, and it's December. I hope this is a better weekend.

Watching a late night movie with my girl.

Life.

I realize more and more each day that I'm not getting any younger. I can accept that, but I will also admit that I'm definitely not ready to grow old. I'm scared of that....

I'm also realizing that I lived a rather sheltered life as a kid. I'm not sure how I did that, since many of my memories of growing up included my parents being pretty well absent. Not in the way that they didn't care about me, but they worked hard, and they were often caught up in the things that were consuming their life that I was unaware of at the time. I did not live in a perfect home with a white picket fence like I thought I did. And, that's okay. And, somehow I survived...

However, I am now finding myself in a position as a Mom where I now have to make sure my kids do well, and make the best choices they can. I have been noticing that I'm the one now that works hard and gets caught up in the things that are consuming my life. I don't want to be that for them. I am different than my Mom in a many ways... I try to make sure I keep the lines of communication open with my kids. I share my life's experience with them and talk about how I understand what they are going through in their lives, at this point, and the age they're at. I know they think I'm crazy at times, and I know sometimes they think I don't understand. I do. I really really do. I want to be the best I can be for them. I want them to grow up to be strong and happy. I'm going to work harder to be a better parent. I need to do that... for them, for me.

RAMBLE. Yes... random thought, not at all.

Brooke is 14 and Brandon is 16. Soon, in the blink of an eye, they will be all grown up and I won't get a second chance to do this. I love them with all of my heart. There's no doubt about that.

Snug- A - Fied!

I don't care what anyone says... I love me a comfy, pink snuggie! I am totally serious. They look shabby, and feel like they aren't the slightest bit warm, but they are fabulous! LOL!!!! This is my second winter/cold season with my snuggie and I wouldn't change a thing about it! :) I only have one complaint. Since I'm a shorty, standing at only 5' 3", this cozy warmness is much to long for me when I stand up. So, walking with a snuggie can be a challenge. I have to wrap it around by body, and try not to trip over it. Okay, so the arms are a little long too. But, that's only a problem when I'm trying to type. So, if there are a bunch of typo's on my message tonight, it's the snuggie's fault.

Who'd of thought I could actually find enough to say about a snuggie? Leave it to me, miss talk a lot.

Other than that, today was just kind of regular. A few rather interesting moments, a couple fun laughs.. but that's about it. The day started out really crappy, but I'll admit, it did improve as the day progressed.

The Christmas tree is going up this weekend. I'm hoping the magic comes back for me, and I can begin to enjoy the Christmas season.

Tis the season....
I don't want to feel bad...
Bah Hum bug.

Wednesday Night

So, after the chaos in the house last night, I watched this movie with Fred. It was okay, and there were parts that actually made me laugh really good. Going in to this, I had no idea what the movie was going to be about or anything. And, the parts that I expected to be funny were not so much, yet I'd be surprised with a really good laugh when I least expected it. I love those moments in movies. Hell, I love those moments in life.

Speaking of life. I want some more laughing moments, and less stressful, sad, hurting, miserable moments. I am exhausted. I am hoping for a good weekend. Fingers crossed. Everything has been so crazy bad lately. I don't want that. I'd love some crazy good though. :)

Funny... lack of sleep will leave me stumped for words. Yep, me. Stumped! I so often can't shut the hell up, yet right now I feel like I'm scrambling for things to say. Sometimes it's best to say nothing at all.. especially after a sleepless night....

Maybe I'll find some hidden energy after lunch. I need a pick me up.

Never a dull moment.

Second time around!

I know, I've posted this before! But hey, I love it and it makes me smile. Plus, I am off today from work and trying not to be so serious minded! :)

It's miserable out there! UGH!!!! WET WET WET!!! At least it's not freezing out. I am SO grateful for that! I am happy for the time off. I think I have like 100 hours of sick time and maybe 140 hours of vacation time I haven't used. It's good to take a day every now and then. :)

Ooops... gotta run. Be back for more later. I have tons to catch up on here at my blog!

Oh Rainy Day...

It's a perfect day to lay in bed and watch a good movie... or something :)

Tuesday, November 30th.

Ran out for a little bit tonight. Although I'm not feeling well, it was a nice escape from reality for a little bit.
Some major stuff happening right now that both scary and upsetting. I am praying that things will be okay. :(
Busy day at work, but I successfully got my projects done, and will be taking a deep breath and take a day off, away from the office tomorrow. I have so much I need to do, but we'll see what I can accomplish.

Christmas. I'm just not feeling it this year. I hope I perk up a bit. I want to be in the spirit, and be excited about the holidays, but I'm just not. I hate that. I know it's still special to the kids, so I'm really trying not to be a total downer!

I don't have a lot more to say tonight. I just hope that things come together, and everything will be okay.

Goodnight.

Missing Bermuda a lot

The Unfinished Church - Bermuda

Forgiving does not erase the bitter past.
A healed memory is not a deleted memory.
Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember.
We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future.

Funny...

Woman at the Bakery: What do you want your cake to say?

Erin: Happy Birthday Brandon

Woman at the Bakery: How do you spell that?

Erin: B R A N D O N

Woman at the Bakery: What colors do you want?

Erin: I don't know, he's a 16 year old boy...

Pick up the cake the next day.....

Look at what it says -

LMAO...... Classic.

I wish I had a better memory. That's all I wanted to say.

16 YEARS AGO TODAY

I was preparing for my trip to Saint Mary's Hospital in Langhorne, PA to give birth to my first child. It was scheduled since he was almost 2 weeks over due and getting way to big for me to handle :)
I can't believe that was 16 years ago. My boy. I love him so much. Having him was scary, but it was also the first time I ever realized the meaning of true, unconditional love.
So tomorrow we'll all get together and celebrate Brandon's Birthday. :) I look forward to that!

This has been an interesting weekend.

I was happy to be warm and cozy in my house on black Friday. There's no way you'll ever see me out there shopping on that crazy day of the year. People are so pushy and mean. I can't stand it! I'd much rather pay a few extra bucks to avoid the crazy people. It really should be called "me me me" day. A day for people to get out there and show the world just how rude, pushy, ignorant, and all about themselves, they can be!

It was so nice seeing my Granny. She is so precious and beautiful to me. I can't believe that she's 89, and she still gets dressed up on Thanksgiving.... high heels and all. And not dated stuff. She's the most in fashion 89 year old woman I have ever seen. She's amazing. I can only hope and pray that I can be as fortunate as her when I get older....

So many random thoughts this morning. I am all over the place with my thoughts.

Maybe this is the best time to put the computer down and get moving.

Happy Sunday

A good thought provoking question

Hello Again!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So much said, in so few words.

Time it was, and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, a time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you

CELEBRATING KAREN'S 50TH BIRTHDAY!!!

HASH RUN - CAMP OUT - JULY 2010

This is a picture of me and one of my favorite sexy dominatrix girls :) LOVE her.

Have you ever heard of a "Hash Run"? Well, over the summer I went on my first one, and absolutely LOVED it. It was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had, with a group of amazingly fun people. And, we camped out in a tent which was huge for me. Not because I'm opposed to camping, but just because I haven't done it since I was like 6. :) I didn't sleep a wink, but I still enjoyed being in the environment, and trying it all out.

I admit, the weather was a bit hot (like a million degrees out), and I spent the entire day sweating my ass off.... BUT, that's partially because I didn't do this:

Some of the group decided to hitch a ride on the back of a truck through the car wash..

And.... Here's hubby ((after)) all cooled off (for the moment)

I guess they forgot about the soap, and the hot water wash that shoots out. Apparently they were still a lot cooler than us!

I guess I always could have taken the easy way out at times and taken a free ride like this guy did:

BUT he took a few hard falls out of that shopping cart, and I'm not sure I would have handled it as well as he did :)

And then there was Hollie. I think she got a little overheated. Here she is lying on the street. Thank goodness this town isn't as crowded as the town I live in.

Can you believe he hashed through town like this??? ((most often, a hash run happens in trails of woods)) NOT this one. LOL

John was one of the Hash Hares...
And this is how he was dressed for it:

Each Hash Run has a theme. This was Dominatrix / Submissive - OR Redneck.
FUN STUFF!!!!!!!

I have a ton of pictures from this, but clearly can't post them all. Especially the "Baked Bean wrestling" LOL!

What fun!
