Good Morning!
It's Thursday!!! Time to warm up with a nice hot cup of coffee, and get the day started!
Happy Day!
Today is my Interview. I look all spiffy and stuff. :) Sorta like a Librarian. But, little do they know what lies beneath the surface! woohooooo!!!!! Grrrrrrrrr... Tiger! (lol)
So, what else......
I met a really nice person this morning. You see, in the State of New Jersey it's a law that you cannot pump your own gas. SO, I was getting gas - and the attendant wanted to strike up a conversation with me while my car was filling up. He was from Pakistan. Very friendly. He wanted to tell me all about his family. His kids, his wife. He told me how he was grateful to live here in the United States, and how he feels so good, but he misses his family terribly. It was nice. He was difficult to understand, but I got it. I think he was so happy that I was willing to listen. I don't think many people are. Most of the time, I'd think that at that very location, people want to stop in, get their gas, and move on. I did, but in a split second, I realized that it wouldn't hurt, to smile back, and listen to his story. :)
When I left, his smile was huge as can be, and I was happy.
Nice start to a cold, sunny day.
Every little moment counts.
Happy Thursday.

It's Here! Wednesday! Happy Hump Day!

Breath in...
Breath out...
Today is going to be a good day...
This job is good...
This job is great.....
I love my job...
I love my job...
lol!
(What's Erin's problem?)
I left here yesterday with my head down... and I think I was mumbling some words under my breath that I don't feel comfortable saying out loud. lol
Right at 5:00 p.m - I had the most Irate student come in to my office and raise hell at me for no good reason. She was screaming and crying, telling me she hates me, hates Rider University, etc... I stood there for a moment, just watching her carry on. I then proceeded to tell her that I was here to help her, take care of her... etc... and she calmed down (a tiny bit). What a mess. First of all.. the girl needs help (on an emotional level). Something that I am not qualified to help her with. Second, why me? LMAO! I can take abuse... but heck... that was so uncalled for!
Ok. Got that off my back. Now, I can begin the day with a smile.
:) :) :) :) :)
Oh, before I forget.....
HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!!!! We have made it to the middle of the work week.
Let's celebrate!
:)
Oh.. and one more rant... (lol) If my Co-Worker coughs in my face again without covering her mouth, I might just scream like the student that was in here yesterday!
lolol... not really. But, how can a woman stand there coughing in someone's face like that and not cover her mouth? I'm not being unreasonable to expect that, am I?
:P :P :P :P :P :P

Grab The Shades!!! The Sun Has Come Out To Play!

Since we now have to deal with the fact that by 5:00 p.m it's dark out... It's important to take advantage of the sunshine!!!
It was pouring this morning -
Now it's beaming!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eveline and I ran out for lunch. It's GORGEOUS out there!!!!! So, it was a nice ride. We laugh a lot when we're together. She "gets" me. It's nice. Not everyone does. As a matter a fact... (lol) very few people do! So, it's a fun time when we're in each other's company. She thinks I'm a nut, and I KNOW she is :) :) :) :) :)
It's all good. I'm feeling really good today. Not a bad week! Keeping my chin and my spirits up. :)

Tuesday

Good Morning, and Happy Tuesday!!!!
It's cold, and rainy. It's the kind of day that makes me want to stay tucked away in my bed... with lots of pillows, blankets, and maybe a good movie! Or several good movies!
Speaking of movies....
I saw the movie "Reign Over Me" on Sunday night.
I waited for over a year to see it.
It was fair. It took awhile to get to the point of the movie.. But of course, after I was "hooked" - I cried and cried. It was definitely a movie to cry over.
Hmm.... what else...
I'm a bit tired. Need more coffee.......
then, I'll be wide awake, and ready to go!

MONDAY

Good Morning, and Happy Monday!!!
It's a beautiful Morning. So many things to be thankful for!
And, I have such positive energy this morning - which for me, on a Monday Morning - is sometimes hard to achieve. :)
The weekend was just beautiful. The weather was perfect, and the colors of the world amazed me.....
And there was a lot of traveling going on...
So, where do I begin? lol!
Friday : New Jersey Shore.
Saturday : The Pocono Mountains
Sunday : Local
Oh, and the kids have a new baby sister! Noooooooooooo...... no surprises here! Their Step Mom gave birth to a little baby girl. We all went to the hospital to see her. She is very sweet. And, the kids were very excited. It was nice. Diana is now a Mommy. I'm thinking that someday, she'll understand me better. I'm hoping she will.
I had a nice weekend. I wish they could all be so peaceful.
When I say that.. I mean on an emotional level. And, the beauty of it all.
Life isn't all black and white. Some people live their life as though it is. I believe that there are shades of many colors, in between.
I know. To many, this makes no sense at all. And, I can't quite find the words to explain how I feel, or what I mean. It's just something that comes from within...

Halloween Party 2007
Tuesday

And, a Happy Tuesday to YOU!
So, here I am again! I am going to try to put forth the effort to have a beautiful day. Each morning brings the opportunity for a new beginning. I am giving it 100%.
What happened this morning, is behind me, and I wish for nothing but positive - for the rest of the day. :)
So, let me share a little..... since I haven't been the best "blogger" lately.
I applied for a new job. Yes, that is news......
And, I was scheduled to have my interview yesterday. I got to work, settled in, and received a call from the supervisor. She was cancelling. :( She was home, sick. Well, I was actually a bit relieved. I had a bad morning, and felt like maybe I couldn't be 100% for an interview.
Anyway.... I finally admitted to myself how BAD I would love to have this job. I don't like to get excited... because I just never know...
This job seems like a dream. It's an 11 month position. AND, it pays more in 11 months, than I get paid in 12. lol! Well, applying for it was a no brainer. How I would love to have the month of July off every year. AND, it offers ALL of the benefits that I currently receive. Hmmmm.... Cross your fingers (and toes) for me!!!!!! I have NO idea who I'm up against. However, it would be an awesome promotion. :)
What else. It's cold out. It's freezing out!!! I had to sit in my car this morning and wait for the ice to melt off the windshield. It took a little while. I would have scraped it, but haven't thought to put an ice scraper in my car (UNTIL THIS MORNING) :)
Oops.......... gotta run
Be back!

Sunday Afternoon
Skipping the rest of the weekend for right now. I have to post these silly pictures first thing.
Yesterday was weird. It was very different.
You see..... When pulling out of my Complex, you can make a right, or a left. IF you make a right - the river, country, rolling hills, farms, and beautiful roads lie ahead. If you make a left, the city life is waiting. Well, I was the passenger. And, we made a left.
So, on we went. The weather was gorgeous. The sun was shining, and we were on our way towards Philadelphia. Not the usual direction we take.
Well, once we got onto I-95, we ran into a huge traffic jam! lol, what a mess! At first, we thought the Eagles were having a "home" game. They weren't. It was road construction. So, what's a girl to do? lol. Take silly pictures! I find it very entertaining. Hubby may not agree. He was a little stressed out. And he hates traffic. I'm not thrilled about it, but - I try to make the best of it. So, let me share with you, some of the pictures I took. LOLOL@Myself. YES, I CAN laugh at myself. And, oddly enough..... I can entertain myself pretty easily.
Shhhhh........ Driving in traffic can be very very stressful.... (lol)

Oh Erin.... Behave yourself..... :)

Whatchu looking at??!?!?! :P

UGH!!! ARGH!!!! BLEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This my dear, is the most appropriate photo of the day! Why??? (lol)
Well, I have shoes on this morning that are higher than these....
It's raining....
And, I took a nice big fall in my building this morning! OUCH!
Everything went boom! (poor Erin)
My bags went everywhere, and there I sat on the floor :(
Now, what on earth was I thinking to wear shoes like this on such a rainy day????
I've been dressing up more, trying to keep myself pretty, and feeling good about "me". But heck - now I'm paying for it. :(
I have a headache, a busted up knee. and my wrist hurts! I tried to break the fall with my right arm I guess.... Didn't work!
However, I'm here. No broken bones, no blood.... no crying...
Dusted off... and now I begin my day.
Happy Thursday. May you enjoy this day as if it were your last.
Dance or sing, in the rain.... smile at a stranger... give a compliment, or two.
It's all good.
Speaking of compliments... I told a woman in the store last night how "sexy" her hair style was. She was so flattered. She smiled really big, and thanked me. It was sweet. And her hair was so wild, and funky sexy. Bet she was happy to hear something nice. :)

Happy Rainy, soaking wet, beautiful, stormy Hump Day!
This is one of my Favorite Hump Day Pics ever! And I am happy to be able to share it with YOU! :)
Enjoy!
So, like I said - it's a messy, rainy day. But, we could use some rain ( I guess). And, as much as I am sitting here wishing I could be home, in bed, enjoying some time doing fun things with myself (lol, woooohoooo) watching movies, playing on the computer.... you know.. those kinds of things :) - I'm here, at work. Bleah! :P
Gotta make the best of it. Rain or shine.
I hope this day finds you smiling, with a heart full of love.
I'm feeling ok. Not dancing on the rooftops or anything like that... but, I'm ok.
:)
Got lots to get out of my head. Might be blogging a lot today (if time allows)
Be back soon!

It's been very hectic!
I'm working with students this week, getting them all set up with registration for the spring of 2008. I can't believe how fast the days, weeks, months, years.... are passing us by!!!!
So...... Anyway! Things are OK. Quiet. Busy. Quiet, and busy!
:)
My spirits are up, and I'm feeling ok.

Sunday October 21st
Good Morning, and Happy Sunday.
Yesterday was a pretty emotional day. Rich, Franci, and the kids left. It was especially tough this time. Not sure exactly why. I guess with everything going on, I wasn't able to spend as much quality time with my brother, as I would have liked. And, It's hard to say when I'll see them again.
Well, it was still a nice visit. I hope they had a great time. It was so nice to see them.
Yesterday was beautiful. Fall is my favorite season. Here's a few quick pics I took from my phone. I'm slowly learning how to use it (lol). So much still to learn. Anyway...... enjoy. Life from the eyes of me...... on a beautiful, sunny day.

Thursday ~

Today we have a Memorial Service for Dave
I would imagine that it will be a full house. Packed to capacity.
As a matter a fact, they've planned to have it somewhere other than the Chapel. Knowing how much he was loved, the Chapel won't hold all of the anticipated guests.
I wore my waterproof mascara, and packed some tissues in my purse.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
OK. So, last night. My brother and his kids came by. It was really nice. He's been here for almost 2 weeks. I haven't spent any time visiting with him, one on one. Last night, I did. He's had a lot going on, and he feels bad that we haven't had much of an opportunity to hang out. I guess it's been bothering me, too. It's just that there's been so much going on, we've missed each other. So, it was no biggie - just sitting around talking. It was nice. He's my only brother. AND, as different as we are - we can still relate to a lot in life. It's funny. Sometimes I think he and I couldn't be any different. But, in the big picture of life, that's ok. :) He's still my brother. My only sibling. And, the visit was nice. Seems he needed to vent about stuff. I was there, and I listened. And he left feeling better.......
I'm climbing out of my darkness. I've been so far down. I think it's breaking. This morning when I woke up, I felt good. I think I'm stepping out from under this dark cloud. I'm glad. I don't like feeling bad. It's just not me.
:)
Happy Thursday!

Fun Stuff - Pumpkin Facts for you!
Sorry if I haven't been very entertaining.
Working on getting back on track!

Pumpkin Facts
-Pumpkin (pepon) is a Greek word for "large melon".
-Pumpkins are thought to have originated in North America.
Indians dried strips of pumpkins and wove them into mats, they also roasted long strips on an open fire to eat.
-Pumpkins are a fruit.
-Pumpkins are a type of squash. They are a member of Cucurbita family (cucumbers, zucchini, etc.).
Pumpkins are grown on six of the seven continents (not on Antarctica) even Alaska grows pumpkins.
Pumpkins can be used for many purposes
People food, animal food, decoration and Halloween
90% of pumpkins are grown for Halloween
FIRST PUMPKIN PIE
Pilgrims sliced off top of pumpkin, removed seeds, then filled inside with milk, spices and honey.
Pumpkin was then baked in hot ashes. Insides were eaten with a spoon, like pudding.
GROWING PUMPKINS
Pumpkins are planted by seed (3-5 ft. apart).
Pumpkins require 90 to 120 days to mature.
Pumpkins are planted in late June (harvest Sept./Oct.).
Average yield 14 ½ tons (29,000 lbs. = 2000 pumpkins / Acre).
Average weight = 10-20 lbs.
Pumpkins like "Coastal" type weather (warm days/cool nights).
Pumpkin flower is only receptive to pollination for one day.
White flies, aphids and leaf hoppers are the pumpkin's biggest pests.
Americans spend over $1 Billion / year at Halloween.
Largest pumpkin was grown in Oregon in 2002 - 1173 lbs!
PUMPKIN CARVING TIPS
After carving pumpkin, coat inside and all cut holes with petroleum jelly (slows shriveling/drying out process).
Use battery light or glow stick instead of candles to increase life (candles are much hotter).
Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on underside of lid when using candles (smells like pumpkin pie).
PUMPKIN HUMOR
Q: How do you fix a broken pumpkin?
A: Use a "Pumpkin Patch"

Yesterday with my Sister In Law

So, Mom bailed out yesterday on the shopping trip. Which was just as well. We had a big shopping day planned, and she hates to shop. Plus, it gave Franci and I some time to hang out, and do our thing - and have our talks. :)
We went the The King Of Prussia Mall. This Mall is one of the largest Malls in the United States. It's actually broken down into 2 separate malls. So, we were all set. Got up bright and early, got the kids off to school - put my shopping shoes on, and went to pick Franci up.
We had a nice ride there. The weather was gorgeous, and there were no distractions. What a nice setting for a nice day.
Starbucks, first stop. :) We had some time to kill. We got there before the shops opened.
Anyway, it was a big success for her. She got most of her stuff from Nordstrom. We had a personal shopper bringing everything in for her. Franci told me that she felt so special, like a princess. I was happy for her. It was definitely her day. Everything for her went perfect. She told me it was all because of me, and my fashion sense. lol. Little did she know, I felt like the ugly duckling. She had no clue - and I was happy about that. I wanted her to get everything she needed, and wanted. I wanted her to remember the day forever. So, we went to all the best Department Stores in the Mall. Everything worked out perfectly. And, she was so happy.
Going into it, I was hoping that I'd be able to get some shopping done, too. However, I don't need to shop at the types of stores she was shopping in. I wanted to have as much fun as Franci, but it wasn't working out that way for me (lol). I need to go on a day when I can be alone. It's hard for me to shop for me when I'm with other people. I felt like she needed 100% of my attention. So, she had it. And, best of all, she appreciated it. One day, I will plan a "Pretty Woman" shopping trip for me. I look forward to it.
Anyway, we had a nice lunch together, and we had a few good laughs. Franci and I have known each other for years. She has been married to my brother for 15 years. We've been with each other through a lot, over the years.... and I am so lucky to have such a sweet, loving sister in law. The talks we have ... lolol...... She is just so awesome. And I am so proud of her. Next April, her boss will be the CEO of the Nestle Corporation. She will be his assistant. This is huge for her. And yet, she is so down to earth, so balanced. She's excited, but doesn't let all the hype change who she is... or how she behaves. I am very happy for her. :)
I got home close to 9:00 p.m.
Not much to say about that......
And here I am. I am happy to be back at work today. Strange, but true...
And, life marches on.

Good Morning, and Happy Hump Day!
Back to work... or, like my Grandmother used to say before she went to work in the morning, "Time to make the Donuts" ... Cute. She is just so cute! And no, she didn't work at Dunkin Donuts. :P
So, here I am. It's so foggy outside, you can't see more than a few feet in front of you. It made for a long ride to work. But, along the way, I went from depressed, to bouncy. It's amazing to me how music can make such an impact on me. I'm serious. When I feel bad, I tend to listen to mellow, love songs. But, this morning I wasn't paying attention - and I had a 90's station on. So, all of a sudden, a song that I loved came on. It was such a fun song - that in my opinion, makes you dance in your seat! I just couldn't help myself. :) So, let me share it with you (thank goodness for youtube). Tell me if it makes you dance and move in your seat too!!!!! And, suddenly, I wasn't feeling so down. Posting will continue after the video! brb. :)
Well??? You feeling good now? (I know, I'm silly). The guy is strange looking, but the song is sweet, and positive. Plus, the movie was awesome (Benny and Joon).
Going to start a new post to share my day off (yesterday)
:)
Be back in a few minutes.
